allegro Setting CM Harness Manager Setting Rules#
Setting rules mainly require setting line width and spacing. For high-speed signals, differential and equidistant settings are also required, and the corresponding detection switch needs to be turned on for the software to start detection.
For regular boards, we only need to set the following three columns:
Electrical: Set differential pairs and equidistant settings.
Physical: Set line width rules.
Spacing: Set spacing rules.
ALL Layers and By Layer are the same, only the display effect is different. Therefore, if parameters are set in one place, the parameters in the other place will automatically change.
For double-sided boards, the line width and spacing can be set larger. Here, the line width is set to 8mil.
Our board does not involve differential pairs, so the parameters behind can be left unset.
Setting Via Types
By adding the previously drawn via pads, the attributes can be changed to Via Control.
This way, the attribute of this pad in the PCB will become Vias.
Next, create power rules.
Set the power line width to 20mil for regular settings.
Assign the rules to the network: select Net->All Layers.
For double-sided boards, usually only the default and power rules are set.
Create NetClass
The purpose of creating a NetClass is just to facilitate the assignment of rules. It is also possible not to create it, simply grouping these networks into one group.
Here, we will create a group for power selection.
Select Power from the drop-down box of grouping to batch modify the entire group of networks to Power.
Set Spacing Rules
Select the DEFAULT row, select the content from right to left, and enter 8 to change all parameters to 8mil.
Same Net Spacing -> All Layers
Cross-shaped connections are set to 8mil.
Set Rule Switches
Set Same Net Spacing to off, otherwise, if the via is too close to the pad, an error will occur.
Set Sapcing for different network spacing rules to all On.
Set Electrical to all On.
